Our Registration and Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are designed to ensure that all participants have a positive and productive experience at our annual machine learning summer school (the “Event”) and serve as a guide to help you navigate the process of registering for the Event, understand the rules and policies that apply to Event attendees, and also gain insights into our other activities inspired by the impact of the Event. 

These Terms primarily include information on the Event registration, eligibility criteria, rules of conduct, marketing and communications practices, use of intellectual property rights and address privacy and security concerns.

Please familiarise yourself with these Terms before participating in the Event. By doing so, you are helping to create a positive and respectful learning environment for all participants.

These Terms apply between four X GmbH with its registered office at Bleicherweg 10, 8002 Zurich, Switzerland (“FOUR”, “we” or “our”), and you as the person clicking to accept these Terms (“you” or “user”). 

These Terms primarily govern your registration and attendance of FOUR's Event including but not limited to your use and access to the website at https://bumblekite.co and family of websites owned by FOUR (collectively referred to as the “Site”). In some instances, the Site and the Event are collectively referred to as the “Service”.

By accepting these Terms, you agree that you are attending this Event in a professional capacity. A professional capacity means that you are attending this Event to continue and develop your educational goals in accordance with these Terms. Please do not: (i) register to attend this Event; or (ii) accept these Terms if you are not attending this Event in a professional capacity.

You may browse the Site without submitting an application or registering for the Event. In order to participate in the Event, you must submit an application form subject to FOUR's approval, and once accepted for attendance by FOUR in its sole discretion, pay online to register for the Event.

Our application form is hosted and customised by us.

Ticket prices for the Event are located at the following link. The Event tickets include attendance for all classes, tutorials, keynotes, project-specific coaching sessions, Q&A sessions, and evening receptions, hands-on labs, product demos, and opportunities to schedule meetings with FOUR experts, access to hands on interactive sessions, as well as complimentary refreshments each day of the Event.

Single day tickets may be offered at a later date, subject to availability.

This Event will be open for application/registration online only as follows: application/registration period is as stated in the application section of the page - during this period, you will only be able to apply and/or register for this Event by filling out the application form located in the same website section (the “Application Form”). Registration occurs when an approved applicant has paid all fees for the Event.

Tickets will not be available in-person at this Event.

FOUR shall solely determine what submitted applications are approved and will send a confirmatory email evidencing an accepted application. Your accepted application constitutes an offer to FOUR to secure a place at this Event. However, this Event is subject to availability and acceptance by FOUR of your application. 

Tickets must be used by you as the registered attendee and are non-transferable. 

Tickets may not be exchanged, sold, bartered, auctioned, or transferred in any way, and doing so may result in FOUR rendering the ticket null and void without any responsibility to FOUR.

You may cancel your ticket at any time up to 19th May 2024 23:59 CET by contacting us at bumblekite-team@four-corp.com. No refunds or reimbursements for purchased tickets will be allowable after 19th May 2024 23:59 CET.

FOUR engages third-party electronic payment processing providers for payment services (e.g. card acceptance, merchant settlement, and related services) ("Payment Services") related to the Event. 

By making use of some or all of these Payment Services on the Site, you agree to be bound by their terms of service and privacy policies and hereby consent and authorise us to delegate the authorizations and share the information you provide to us with our third party electronic payment processing provider(s) to the extent required to provide the Payment Services to you.

Customer Credit Card Information: FOUR uses a third party payment processor to keep a protected copy of your credit card number. This billing data belongs to you, and by utilising the Site for payment of the Event, you grant FOUR a licence to use this data to bill you for services rendered. 

FOUR reserves the right to cancel or change this Event without liability to you, due to weather conditions, session availability, change of venue, change of format or program, or any other circumstance (including events beyond the reasonable control of FOUR).

By registering and accepting any discounts, gifts, travel award, or items of value related to this Event, you agree that you're doing so in compliance with applicable laws and your organisation’s code of conduct if applicable.

All information entered into the Application Form must be correct and accurate to the best of your knowledge. All information must be entered in English. You can request the on-demand deletion of your registration/event interest profile from the FOUR Event database after this Event ends by emailing us at privacy@four-corp.com.

FOUR may share your personal information with third parties (including FOUR group companies, sponsors, and external agencies) in order to provide this Event to you. Your information will be used in accordance with the FOUR Privacy Policy located at https://bumblekite.co/privacy. 

In order to receive the Event benefits offered with this Event, you acknowledge and agree that the personal information requested in the Application Form allows FOUR to provide these benefits to you.

You agree to be solely responsible for your own safety, belongings, and well-being while participating in this Event, including off-site events.

FOUR and its affiliates will not be liable for your participation in this Event, or for injury, damage or loss of any kind resulting from or related to your participation in this Event, or for any indirect or consequential losses. 

No solicitation or selling of items or services is allowed at this Event unless specifically authorised by FOUR in advance. Any attendee conducting these activities may be removed from this Event.

You must be attending this Event in a professional capacity.

Subject to FOUR's determination and availability, you may be allowed to register guests for the evening leadership lecture series at a registration fee to be determined by FOUR. If you have someone travelling with you, that person will need to register for a ticket to this Event in order to attend or participate in any of this Event.

You may be offered additional gifts or grants. Information for travel grants may be found in our Application Form. FOUR reserves the right to determine eligibility requirements for any grants offered. If you're not sure whether the professional guidelines for your school, university, organisation, or agency would allow you to accept these items, please check with your local ethics officer in advance.

FOUR will be documenting this Event. Photographs, audio and/or video recorded by FOUR, or others on behalf of FOUR, at this Event may include your image or likeness. You will have a chance to review the materials before they are published and to object to its use. Otherwise, FOUR may use such recorded content for any purpose without compensation to you. In the event you would like your image or likeness removed, you can contact us for removal at privacy@four-corp.com.

In the event a third party captures your image or likeness and you would like a removal of this content, we will do our best to seek deletion but we cannot guarantee in all cases that we will be able to delete this content. In the event we cannot delete requested content by a third party who is acting without our permission, delegation, or direction, you hereby release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless four X GmbH, its legal representatives, and assigns, and all persons acting under its permission or authority, including any third party photographer(s), videographer(s), or studio(s) that it may delegate its initiatives under this agreement, from any liability, whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in content hereof or in any subsequent content processing, as well as any content publication, including without limitation any claims for libel or violation of any right of publicity or privacy.

You’re welcome to take personal photos of your experience at this Event to share with your friends, colleagues or on social media. However, if by taking photos or video you’re negatively impacting the experience of other attendees, you may be asked to stop or leave. Excessive photography/video, including unauthorised broadcasts and press/media coverage of this Event, is prohibited and is grounds for your removal from this Event. If you’d like to request approved media access please contact us at bumblekite-team@four-corp.com.

All registered attendees agree to allow FOUR and those working on its behalf to facilitate this Event to contact them regarding their registration and attendance. By registering for a ticket, you agree to allow FOUR and those working on its behalf to communicate with you via email and phone with information regarding this Event.

Q&A sessions will occur at this Event. By registering for this Event, you acknowledge that any questions you submit to the Q&A platform will be moderated by FOUR and may be edited or removed at the sole discretion of FOUR. FOUR reserves its right to prohibit inappropriate, profane, hateful, or harassing content of any kind during its Q&A sessions.

People who attend our Events want to be here because we have created an environment that encourages creativity, flexibility and achievement. FOUR strives to be a leader in bridging the interdisciplinary gap between biosciences and healthcare using AI technology.

To help achieve this objective, FOUR seeks to attract highly motivated individuals that want to work as a team and share in the commitment, responsibility, risk taking, and discipline required to achieve our vision. In turn, we seek to cultivate and preserve a culture built on trust, integrity, and treating others with respect and kindness.

In order to flourish as a community, FOUR is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected categories. FOUR does not tolerate harassment of Event participants in any form. FOUR takes violations of our Privacy Policy and the Terms seriously and will respond appropriately.

FOUR has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind.

This policy includes, but is not limited to, zero tolerance of stalking/following, deliberate intimidation, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, offensive verbal language, verbal language that reinforces social structures of domination, sexual imagery and language in public spaces, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual or physical attention, neurodiversity, race, colour, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, pregnancy, etc.

This policy extends to all Event-related talks, forums, workshops, hands-on labs, social media, parties, hallway conversations, attendees, partners, sponsors, volunteers, Event staff, etc. You get the idea. FOUR reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove any person from, any FOUR hosted event (including future FOUR events) at any time in its sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, attendees behaving in a disorderly manner or failing to comply with the Privacy Policy and these Terms. If a participant engages in harassing or uncomfortable behaviour, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the conference with no refund.

FOUR's Event personnel will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing discomfort or harassment to feel safe for the duration of this Event. We value your attendance.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Our zero-tolerance policy means that we will look into and review every allegation of violation of our Community Guidelines that is brought to our attention and respond appropriately. We empower and encourage you to report any behaviour that makes you or others feel uncomfortable by finding a FOUR staff member or by emailing at bumblekite-team@four-corp.com.

Bumblekite and the FOUR Logo are service marks, trademarks, and/or trade dress of FOUR or otherwise proprietary to FOUR and may not be used by you for any reason other than as expressly permitted by these terms. 

All Site content, design, text, graphics, and interfaces; the collection, selection, and arrangement thereof; and all software are the property of, or duly licensed to, FOUR. 

You have the right to view, electronically copy, and print in hard copy portions of this Site for the sole purpose of making Event reservations or other personal use. You acknowledge that FOUR and/or third-party content providers remain the owners of all Site and all related materials and that you do not acquire any of those ownership rights by downloading, copying or using any such material in accordance with these Terms.

If you share any ideas, thoughts, criticisms, suggested improvements or other feedback related to our Site or Service (collectively “Feedback”), you agree that we may use the Feedback to modify our products and services without any obligation to compensate you or any third party. By providing Feedback, you grant to us a worldwide, sublicensable, assignable, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, translate, distribute, create derivative works of, perform, display, import, sell, offer for sale, make, have made and otherwise exploit, the Feedback in any form, media, or technology, whether now known or hereafter developed, and to allow others to do the same.

The abovementioned applies if you provide the Feedback in any content submitted publicly or privately, email or any other method of communication with us unless we have entered into a separate agreement with you that specifically addresses the use of Feedback.

Drawing from the insights of the Event, FOUR has identified a significant information gap between senior professionals and early-career researchers and engineers working in the field of computer and biomedical sciences. This gap encompasses such areas as career advancement, skill development and fundamental aspects of their working environment.

As part of its community efforts, within its Bumblekite brand, FOUR conducts a survey-based research project that aims to create a unique, global dataset illustrating the professional pathways and work environment challenges of individuals working at the intersection between computer and biomedical sciences.

For the implementation of the survey-based research project, FOUR encourages professionals working with data science and machine learning methods in the biomedical and health sciences sector to take the survey, which is available at https://www.bumblekite.co/research.

The site and the service, and any content, tools, products or services displayed, accessed or obtained on or through the site and service are provided “as is”, “as available”, and without warranties of any kind, either express, implied or statutory, including, without limitation, warranties of title, non-infringement, system integration, availability, integrity, reliability or transmission or response time, data accuracy, availability, completeness, reliability or timeliness, suitability of content or services, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, FOUR and its suppliers, and agents do not warrant and expressly disclaim that: (i) your use of the sites and/or services and access to and use of all of the tools and features thereon will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or secure, (ii) that any information obtained therein is accurate, reliable, complete or timely, (iii) that defects will be corrected, or (iv) that any software, services, sites or server(s) on which the services and sites are hosted are free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the site and the service and any content provided on or through the sites and services are entirely at your own risk, and you shall be solely responsible for any damage to your property or person, including, but not limited to, your computer system and any device you use to access the brokerage connection services, or any other loss that results from accessing such content.

You acknowledge and agree that we are not liable, and you agree not to seek to hold us liable, for the conduct of third parties, including operators of other sites accessible through the site or services, and that the risk of injury from such third parties rests entirely with you. We make no warranty that any goods or services provided by third parties in connection with your access and use of the site and services will meet your requirements or be available on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis. We make no warranty regarding the quality of any such goods or services, or the accuracy, timeliness, truthfulness, completeness or reliability of any user content obtained through the site and/or the services. You are solely responsible for all of your content and communications and interactions with other users of the site and services. You understand that we do not make any attempt to verify any content posted on the site by you or any other users. You consent to receive communications from us in an electronic form and agree that all terms and conditions, agreements, notices, documents, disclosures, and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications would satisfy if they were in writing.

You may withdraw your consent to receive communications electronically only by contacting us at privacy@four-corp.com. If you withdraw your consent, from that time forward, you must stop using the Site and services. The withdrawal of your consent will not affect the legal validity and enforceability of any obligations or any electronic communications provided, or business transacted between us prior to the time you withdraw your consent.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and FOUR and govern your use of the Site and the Service, superseding any prior agreements between you and FOUR. These Terms and the relationship between you and FOUR shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

The failure of FOUR to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severed herefrom and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. The section titles in these Terms are for convenience purposes only and have no legal or contractual effect. 

These Terms are not assignable, transferable or sub-licensable by you except with our prior written consent. However, we may assign these Terms to any third party whom we choose without your consent.

No waiver by FOUR of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default. You acknowledge that we have the right hereunder to seek an injunction, if necessary, to stop or prevent a breach of your obligations hereunder. There are no third-party beneficiaries to the Terms.

FOUR may amend or modify the Terms from time to time. If any such amendment or modification is materially prejudicing your rights hereunder, we will post notice of it on the Site’s home page or by email to users.

Your continued access to and use of the Site and the Service following any such amendment or modification shall be deemed your acceptance of such amendment and modification. You agree to review the Terms periodically to make yourself aware of such amendments and modifications.
